Chimera Jailbreak IPA

Chimera is a pioneering open-source jailbreak compatible with A7-A11 devices running iOS 12.1.3 to iOS 12.5.7 and all iOS 12.0 to 12.1.4 devices, including A12 devices like the iPhone XS, XR, and select iPads. The appropriate Chimera Jailbreak version must be downloaded depending on your iOS version, as it was released in two distinct versions.

Chimera's iOS 12 jailbreak includes a CoreTrust bypass, eliminating the need to resign binaries on your iDevice. It comes equipped with Sileo, a modern package manager that allows you to install tweaks, apps, and other hacks from various Repositories. Sileo is an expedient alternative to Cydia.

The tool automatically detects supported devices and lets you switch between different exploits (machswap2, voucher_swap, sockpuppet) to jailbreak the iOS 12 system. It also has a disable tweaks option to troubleshoot system issues during re-jailbreak.

The most recent Chimera 1.6.4 jailbreak is for iOS 12.0 – iOS 12.5.5, developed by the team behind Taurine Jailbreak for iOS and iPadOS 14 – iOS 14.3 devices, Odyssey jailbreak for iOS 13, and Electra for iOS 11 – iOS 11.4.1. It provides a stable jailbreak for iOS 12.

Like most modern jailbreaks, Chimera incorporates a Restore RootFS feature that reverts your root file system to its pre-jailbreak state if needed. It's especially handy when you want to remove the jailbreak, along with all the installed tweaks and apps, and revert to stock iOS.

Chimera jailbreak comes in two versions tailored for specific devices and iOS versions. It uses libhooker as its Injection Library, a framework that allows tweak developers to create various tweaks for your device.

After installation, the app can be revoked, ceasing to function or open. Therefore, using the ReProvision app to sign and install Chimera Jailbreak directly on an iOS 12 iDevice is recommended.

The developers made the Chimera Jailbreak source code available via the GitHub Repository. Developers wanting to learn more about this jailbreak and its exploits for iOS 13 can request a pull. As of 29 May 2020, Chimera13 is no longer under active maintenance.

Chimera Jailbreak isn't the sole tool supporting iOS 12 – iOS 12.5.5. As an alternative, you can download the unc0ver jailbreak to install Cydia on iOS 12. A5-A11 iDevices are also compatible with checkra1n on iOS 12.

Even though Chimera Jailbreak hasn't been updated to support iOS 12.5.6, a workaround is available. Mineek, the developer of palera1n, created a unique solution to make Chimera work with iOS 12.5.6 by releasing a DEB package that can be injected into Chimera IPA.
